Highlands Podiatry - COVID-19 Response
On the 23rd March, the Federal Health Minister advised that podiatry practices can continue operating and were encouraged to do so. We are of course taking all necessary precautions to protect the health and safety of both our patients and staff.
While we have always followed strict infection control procedures within our practice, we are taking extra precautions during this time including:
Screening all of our patients before appointments – making sure they have no flu like symptoms, have not been overseas and/or in contact with anyone who has recently returned from overseas in the past 14 days
Encouraging patients to use hand sanitiser in the clinic
Implementing additional cleaning throughout the clinic during the day
Minimising the number of patients in our waiting room at any one time and creating greater spaces between people
Mandatory testing and isolation for any of our staff who become unwell with any flu-like symptoms
Encouraging our staff to self isolate as much as possible while not at work
Because we are a small clinic, generally, there will be no more than one person in the waiting room at any one time. The exception being on a Friday where there are two podiatrists on for the day. In this instance, we have staggered appointment times to ensure only one person is waiting at a time. Patients also have the option of waiting just outside of the office on the lounge or in their car in our car park – we can wave to you when you’re due to go in. These measures help us control and limit the chances of infection.
If ANY of the following applies to you, please let us know so that we can cancel your current appointment and reschedule it for an appropriate time.
If you
have any flu like symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath) or been in contact with anyone suspected of COVID-19
have been overseas in the past 14 days
have been in contact with anyone who has arrived from overseas in the past 14 days
Please call us on 4869 5877
If you do attend our clinic, we suggest you use the hand sanitiser in the waiting room and reception, before and after your consult.
We also ask you to pay by contactless card if possible.
Please arrive on time so we can keep the patients in the clinic to a minimum.
The health of our patients is our main priority. We can all contribute to reducing the spread of the virus, we ask you all to help us by utilising your own best hygiene practices too.
For now we are operating as normal, but as the situation is constantly evolving, we would like to apologise in advance if your appointments are affected in the future. Thank you for your continued support and best wishes to everyone who is feeling the impact in so many ways.
